This Spinnaker race, run out of Larchmont, features a distance race up to 32nm long to Eatons Neck and back. Over 30 boats are registered including Four (4) 109's including us. We might have our own class if a fifth 109 joins.

Reminder, the water is very cold, and will cool off the surrounding air.
*  Dress warm and in layers
*  Bring a morning snack
*  Bring a Thermos with your favorite hot liquid
*  If the return time is too late for you, we can drop off crew in Larchmont before returning to Huntington (1 hour drive from Huntington, if someone can pick you up or you uber to train)

06:22a High Tide (Tide runs against our travel to race course at 7:22am)

DESCRIPTION OF RACE COURSE
For spinnaker classes, from the start, around Eatons Neck Point Lighted Gong Buoy G “11B”, thence to the finish, approximately 32 nm. Non-spinnaker classes will sail a shorter course of approximately 20 nm. A shorter course may be set for any class if the race committee decides conditions so indicate. Such courses will be described in the sailing instructions.

We are looking to tune up against some J/109s across at Stamford for two or more Tuesdays, the earlier in the season the better. This will be weather dependent. Please select all the Tuesdays that are possibilities.

If we race Tuesday, we will also race Wednesday.

343 pm High Tide May 16th 2023
430 pm Meet at Dock
445 pm Depart Willis Dock (note choose and raise Jib enroute.)  9.6 nm from Willis Dock to bouy R32 start. Between 90 min and 105 min at average 6 knots. (5 kt speed limit first two miles)
(Note; tide on Long Island Sound, can add 15 minutes of travel time,  between peak low and high tide, and it can save 5 minutes at the peak between high and low tide. A northerly wind can reduce max velocity
